The lore surrounding the Sutro Baths is tantalizing, but it doesn’t even come close to the amazingness of the archival history of this actual San Francisco attraction which endured from 1896-1966. This design is based on an early version of the bathing suit rented out to visitors of Aldolph Sutro’s saltwater, swimming pool complex, complete with a screen-printed stripe replicating the knit stripe in the actual suit and an oversized rendition of the inside label placed on the outside…because we’re zany like that! When printed, the label is obstructed by the hood…like a little surprise lurking beneath. The photo mock up includes the design placed lower for visibility.
